Lewis is a progressive thinker that serves the Fort Wayne community as a
professional and champion of organizations that are committed to innovation,
change, and providing solutions. 

He is well known as a “Master Barber,” owning
King’s Barbershop for nearly 25 years. Through his experience in the barbershop,
Lewis has developed leadership principles that have sharpened his communication
skills and helped him build many authentic relationships.

Lewis founded King’s Community Outreach in his barbershop in 2012, For several years, he has organized people from all over the community to serve and create a culture of peace and unity.

Lewis has overseen the collection and distribution of over 400 Christmas baskets
for families that are in need.

Lewis is an ordained Pastor, certified life coach, and leadership strategist equpping leaders with the tools to win professionally and personally worldwide.  Lewis A. King is the Director of Northeast Indiana Neighborhood
engagement. 

He is responsible for coordinating outreach efforts and community
enrichment with nine churches, schools and organizations to help connect people to people to make the world a better place.

Lewis A. King is the Coordinator of a Mayoral initiative called Fort Wayne
UNITED Ten Point Coalition. Lewis leads this initiative that helps the youth and
their families get to the root cause of the of the violence and negativity in the
streets by helping remove road blocks and building strong relationships that bring
hope and a brighter future.

Lewis serves on several boards which include the Fort Wayne Mayor’s
Opportunity Advisory Council, Safe Housing!

Leadership built on purpose is not limited to just personal leadership. For corporate leadership also, there should be a purpose in which the leader wants the people to join in fulfilling.

 

The first question every leader of any team or organization should ask themselves is the question of purpose. What am I leading these people to achieve? Where is the destination we want to reach? Without a clear definition of purpose, leadership is pointless.

 

The next phase to effective leadership after clarity of purpose is having conviction about the purpose. The leader, either individual or corporate, must have a strong conviction about the purpose. 

 

Conviction means having an unshakable belief in the necessity and possibility of that purpose. This means the leader must first be persuaded that the purpose is something worth pursuing.

 

Vision has a clear purpose for the future. It is seeing, now, the possibility of what could be in the future that does not exist yet. Vision is the capturing of what could become in the future from what exists now.
